Storm SANDY

People may think that SANDY is gone. This thinking is only half the truth. SANDY shows her real face right now. The reality hits people now when recognizing the extend of the disaster. The pain of losing everything people worked for, the view of the area where they live in, and the days that seem like weeks without electricity, clean water, and heating system. SANDY after the storm can even be more devastating than the actual experience of it.

WHAT CAN WE DO ABOUT IT?

WE ARE THE CHURCH following Jesus Christ's example.

"I was hungry and you gave me

food" (Matthew 25:35)

There is a sign-up sheet in the parish hall for the different areas that require assistance. Please participate! We need people to set up, clean up, man booths, sell tickets, cook food, sell raffles, get journal ads, serve food, supervise the children, etc. If you are not sure how to help, please ask anyone on the Fair committee. We are also looking for new items that can be used for the raffles. Donations of clothing, costume jewelry and house wares are also needed. Please remember that the items should be in good, sellable condition. Let’s make this Fair one to remember!

It is a great joy to know that this Church Community cares for each other. Love, my sisters and brothers, was the key for creating this joyful memory.

Alleluia!

Monday May 28, 2012:
A Prayer to God Forgive us for what we have done to ourselves. Forgive us for what we have listened to and absorbed and how we lost our way and didn’t realize that You were inside of us all the time. Protect us, Dear God, throughout this next year. Let us grow in spirituality, let us grow in faith of ourselves, and let us love ourselves and others. Please help us not to take everything so seriously, to be able to laugh and to have fun and to bring bout joy, and to nourish and nurture and care about ourselves. Dear God, we ask this in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, feeling bright, rejuvenated, full of love, caring and peace with resolution. Flo

O Divine Gift Giver, I stand beneath the endless waterfall of your abundant gifts to me. I thank you Especially for the blessings of Life....The most precious of all gifts to me I thank you ever generous one, For clothing to wear, for food and drink to nourish my body For all the talents and skills you have bestowed upon me. I thank you for the many joys of my life, For family and Friends, For work that gives me a sense of purpose and invests my life with meaning. I thank you as well for the suffering and trials of my life.......Which together with my mistakes are among my most important teachers. Grant that I may never greet a new day without the awareness of some gift for which to give you thanks.... And may constant thanksgiving be my song of perpetual praise to you. ----Anonymous-----  Flo
